Well although many GPS manufacturers seem to be engrossing in the tactics to get the extra honey out of the minor feature updates and monthly subscription fees, Navigon is certainly going for the jugular with the new 2200T.

What’s more the 3.5-inch-screened nav device offers up free real-time traffic updates for life (a service that usually will run you $10 a month) in addition to fun stuff like Reality View Pro (3D images and actual road sign text), Lane Assist Pro and text-to-speech, all for a meagre $229.

Three years of map updates will cost you somewhere around $80, but the built-in maps for US and Canada should get you pretty far. No word though on when this will hit stores, but it seems it will pretty soon.

Excellent news for all the Nokia Nseries fans – The much awaited Nokia N96 slider smartphone and undoubtedly one of the best convergence devices has finally made its first appearances in Europe indeed!  I know it’s not 15th September yet, however Nokia N96 is on sale in Europe for £450 before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia N96

Refreshing your memories Nokia N96 – Flagship model comes equipped with a brilliant 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Wi-Fi, 16GB internal memory that is expandable to 24GB with optional microSD card, large 2.8″ TFT display compatible for N-Gage gaming, digital TV and turn-by-turn voice GPS navigation.

No information on the US launch yet but this one certainly seems to be an indicator that it’s on the way.

Finally the SDK for the most anticipated Windows Mobile phone namely Xperia X1 is out. I guess some of you may be wondering as to what can SDK performs actually?

Well if yes then this one is for you - Sony Ericsson Beta SDK for Windows Mobile® 6.1 is a set of tools, plug-ins and documentation that will allow users to develop, customize and test XPERIA™ Native Panels, XPERIA Web (HTML) Panels and applications for Windows Mobile 6.1 for XPERIA X1 phone. What’s more the SDK runs on visual studio, which is probably used by most of the Windows Mobile developers out there.

Sony Ericsson claims that, "The Xperia X1 will offer the richest mobile user experience, putting the world at the fingertips of the user." Also there’s no need to have an actual device to get started: the XPERIA X1 is emulated on a PC. Surely a hint at the close launch.

Gorenje is signing the first “made for iPod” fridge which was featured in IFA 2008.

ipod fridge

This will be a regular fridge with an iPod dock that would not only charge the player, but also allow playing music on the fridge built-in speakers. But that’s not all, Gorenje experts in making WIFI appliances that can be controlled by the iPod Touch or the iPhone via an especially designed web portal.  Now this is what  ipod accessories is all about!

We are still very susceptible on prices as this type of product can’t be afforded by everyone. But hey, someone has to do it first, right? Over and above this is a mind-blowing idea when it talks of controlling your home appliances from your phone.
