Garmin’s smooth and completely free ride (free live traffic information for life on its new nüvi 7x5 and 2x5 gps navigators) isn’t that easy as it is supported by ads.

Garmin ads

According to PC Magazine, its review unit arrived pre-loaded with ads for BP, Walgreens, and Wells Fargo, which always appear at the bottom of the screen when you access the traffic menu, and occasionally pop up on the map view screen (but not when you're in motion). A single tap of the advertisers' name will perform a POI search for nearby retail locations. Unfortunately, you can't disable these ads, but it's likely that they help Garmin offset the cost of the live traffic information that it offers free.

Well those who are already fed to the gills with these promotional tactics how much are you willing to pay to get rid of them?

According to MarketWatch Samsung is reportedly looking to acquire Sandisk – the flash memory cards and multimedia player’s behemoth. Seems to be a perfect time as Sandisk has lost 50% of its market capitalization since June 2008.

Sandisk

SanDisk stock price has plummeted from $56 to just over $13 per share since this time last year and hence it looks like an ideal premise for a bidding war to the investors.

Samsung is already a flash memory behemoth and with Sandisk, it would acquire a great brand, an amazing patents portfolio, additional revenues and much more. Certainly not a bad deal for either of the companies at this price.

The Pea Speaker system concept has been grabbing the attention of viewer since its inception. Each pod holds 7 wireless Bluetooth speakers which can be placed anywhere you like, assuming you don’t get out of the connection range. Each sphere is powered by a lithium ion rechargeable via induction when placed in the pod. One of the seven holds the ability to control the master volume and each speaker pod can be charged when placed in the pod through the magic of induction. The system doesn’t do surround sound since it can’t separate channels, but it’s a good way to fill a large area with a mixed stereo track.

Pea speaker system

You can start saving now onwards as this doesn’t seem to be easily affordable. Till date no information available on pricing.
