Dutch navigation
specialist and French carmaker Renault have announced a strategic partnership
to offer Renault customers an in-dash navigation system for around 500 Euros.
That price seems to be very reasonable given the fact that most of the fully
integrated GPS systems today cost in the range of $1,500 to $2,000.
Expecting
to pioneer in providing low cost integrated navigation solutions in the
automotive industry, this navigation solution will be available to Renault
customers on various models with added advantage of maps being provided by Tele
Atlas.
The
integrated navigation solutions won’t be available this year as they will make
their way anywhere around first half of 2009.
