On September 11th, Jonathan Zdziarski, Data-forensics expert will be guiding law enforcement personnel and anybody who wants to access the not-so-readily available data on an iPhone. This will happen through the process of bypassing the passcode lock security using a custom firmware bundle in 45 minute live demo on O'Reilly.com. This will enable users to "recover, process, and remove sensitive data stored on the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch."

Now the question arises what motivates Zdziarski, who was the first to open up the iPhone to 3rd party development to do this act? In this case we have to wait and watch to see whether it will merely be educational and supporting law enforcement on methods of gathering information, or is targeted for hackers who may or may not have a malicious agenda?
